Nobel Prize is one of the most recognized awards in the world Nobel Prize is named after a well-known chemist, engineer, and inventor Alfred Nobel. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden. According to the Alfred Nobel noble prizes are conferred in five separate areas Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and Peace, to those who have best severed humankind during the preceding years. He died in the year 1896, after the death of Nobel on the honour of him the prizes which are named “Nobel Prizes”. The Nobel prize was first awarded in the year 1901. In 1968, a central bank of Sweden, that is, Sveriges Riksbank funded the establishment of the Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences. From then onwards, Nobel Prizes are awarded in six different fields. Four awarding institutions for the six prizes awarded:
- Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences– Chemistry; Physics; Economics
- Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institute– Physiology / Medicine
- Swedish Academy– Literature
- Norwegian Nobel Committee– Peace
The awardee of the Noble Prize is conferred with three things- a medal, a diploma and award money (11,000,000 Swedish Kronor). The Nobel Prize insignia are made of 24 karat gold plated with green gold. The medals are awarded to the laureates at a ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden, on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel’s death. The Noble Peace Prize awarded in Oslo of Norway.
