The Constitution of India was adopted in 1949, November 26th .The Constitution of India is the longest Constitution in the world. It had 395 articles in 22 parts and 8 schedules at the time of its commencement. Now the Constitution of India has 448 articles in 25 parts and 12 schedules and to add to this all 105 amendments. 6 Sixth Schedule Provisions as to the Administration of Tribal Areas in the States of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram
7 Seventh Schedule The Union (central government), state, and concurrent lists
8 Eight Schedule Deals with the 22 official languages recognized by the Indian Constitution:
9 Ninth Schedule Provisions as to validation of certain Acts and Regulations i.e land reforms and

abolition of the zamindari system. It also deals with the acts and regulations of the Parliament dealing with other matters.

This schedule was added by the 52nd Amendment Act of 1985, also known as Anti-defection Law

12 Twelfth Schedule The powers, authority and responsibilities of Municipalities.

This schedule was added by the 74th Amendment Act of 1992
